Families celebrate special dads in their lives

IT was all about dad on Sunday as Gladstone families gave their special one gifts and plenty of love for Father's Day.

Some stayed indoors while others basked in the sunshine at the city's various outdoor areas.

Little Eloise Groen-int-woud spent the morning with her proud daddy Anthony at Gladstone Yacht Club.

The 16-month-old was also joined by her mum, grandmother and cousins on a lovely family outing at breakfast.

"Eloise and I do trips to the park and the marina when we can," Mr Groen-int-woud said. "She's a good kid."

Mr Groen-int-woud, who celebrated his second Father's Day with Eloise, got a magazine subscription from his family.

Elli Geelhoed, 4, and her dad Steve spent Father's Day with a morning picnic at Tannum Sands beach.

Elli's sister Stella and mum Mel then joined the pair at Gladstone marina to have a browse at the YWAM ship.

"I bought my dad a keyring for Father's Day," she said.

The Geelhoed family were planning on going barbecue shopping in the afternoon.
