Rates, roads and rubbish: Desley O'Grady

We asked each candidates their views on the key roles of a council.

The answers have been published in the paper over the past few weeks, but below are Desley O'Grady's un-edited answers.
What do you think about the current state of the following council issues/services;

Rates

A rate review would need to be put in place once the incoming council was elected.

Rubbish

I'm happy to listen to anyone's concerns on the rubbish issues or how to do things better!

Roads

It's not what I think of the current state of the roads, its what the residents and ratepayers think!

They need to convey the message back to the council if they have any issue or grievances.

Can you describe the role of a councillor.

A Councillor must represent the current and future interest of the residents of the local government region. As stated in the local government Act 2009.
