Rampage victims speak out

A YOUNG father has recalled the terrifying moment a teen allegedly lunged at him with a knife during an all-night crime spree where a woman was also threatened with a tomahawk.

Justin* told the Chronicle he had left his partner and six-month-old baby inside his Eli Waters home to investigate dogs barking when he saw a group of teens in the street just before midnight on Sunday.

He allegedly caught a group of teens breaking into a number of cars including his own.

One allegedly turned and ran toward Justin.

"He pulled out a knife and threatened me."

"He yelled at me 'piss off... go home. You wanna get stabbed you mother f***er'? as he held the knife up."

The youth allegedly lunged toward him with the knife.

Working as a security guard Justin said he receives threats on a regular basis.

"The difference is they aren't normally holding a knife," he said.

The Eli Waters dad was just one alleged victim in a major crime spree which left a trail of destruction across the region.

Earlier, a Murgon woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said an attack on her home left her feeling scared and angry.

She claimed it began with fierce banging on her front door.

"There was a face at the back door trying to get in," she said.

The woman put her full weight against the door to keep the attacker out but they kicked back.

The alleged force from this blow broke the woman's forearm and gave her a black eye.

"I was pushing as hard as I could to keep them out," the woman said.

"Through all the drama they just want keys, all of a sudden they grabbed them and out they ran."

Later, in Tiaro, about 2.30am, the Royal Hotel was broken into and a Dunga Derby car stolen along with thousands of dollars worth of alcohol.

Both cars along with a Kia Rio allegedly stolen from Eli Waters were later discovered extensively damaged in Cherbourg.

The Chronicle has obtained footage of the three vehicles being driven recklessly in Cherbourg Monday morning.

Three of the alleged offenders aged 16, 18 and 19 have since been arrested.

Their string of charges includes break and enter, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, stealing, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, burglary and assault occasioning bodily harm.

The two adults faced Murgon Magistrates Court yesterday.

No bail applications were made.

They will be mentioned again in court next month.
