Rally updates for the public
RALLY Australia will update the public on planning for the World Rally round with a series of meetings beginning tomorrow.
The organising body will stage community information sessions in Coffs Harbour, Glenreagh, Ulong, Bellingen, Woolgoolga and Bowraville.
It’s the third round of public meetings, complementing a six-month program of direct contact with 2000 residents, community groups, sporting clubs, businesses and other organisations.
Rally Australia general manager Michael Masi said the sessions would provide the first update since the rally routes were announced last month.
“They will be a chance for sporting clubs and other community groups to find out how they can take on roles that will benefit them,” Mr Masi said.
“For example, we are looking to locals to provide catering, parking supervision, spectator marshalling and other services at all the daily spectator locations.
“We’ll also have information about traffic management plans, which will be of particular important for residents and business operators in The Jetty area of Coffs Harbour, where big crowds are expected for the three nightly super special stage,” he said.
The community information sessions will be held at:
Coffs Harbour: tomorrow at 7pm, Deep Sea Fishing Club
Glenreagh: Saturday at noon, School of Arts Hall
Ulong: Saturday at 2.30pm, Community Hall
Bellingen: Monday at 6pm, Uniting Church Hall
Woolgoolga: Tuesday at 7pm, Seaview Tavern
Bowraville: Wednesday at 5.45pm, Bowraville Theatre
