Rainy weather to clear

WINTER in Gladstone is well known for bringing cool but sunny weather.

Unfortunately, we are not seeing much of that at the moment.

It certainly has felt rainy the past few days, but how much rain have we actually had?

Despite the grey skies, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, Gladstone hasn't actually received much rain lately.

The only exception was Wednesday when 12.4mm fell.

The other 11 days so far this month have yielded a total of only 6.2mm of rainfall.

While there might not be a huge volume of rain falling on our heads, the drizzle and greyness seem determined to hang around.

The bureau is expecting showers today and over the weekend, so if you are planning to play sport get ready for a tough, wet slog.

Monday is when we can expect things to clear up, and hopefully we can get back to those clear winter days we all love in our region.
