A national freight train stopped 100m short of a stolen car which had been left parked on railway lines near the BMX track on Glenlyon Rd.
This came after another stolen car was torched and dumped, and a police pursuit that saw a third car travel through Beecher, along the Dawson Hwy, along Haddock Dr, and then through bushland until the two occupants, a male and a female had to leave the vehicle when it came bottomed out on the railway line.
Police are still searching for the pair.
EARLIER:
FIRE threatened a house on Facing Dr off Glenlyon Rd after two people dumped a stolen car, poured petrol over it and set it alight.
We understand the pair then took off in a second stolen car and led police on a hunt including in bushland around Aerodrome and Red Rover roads.

The Observer understands the car may have been stolen from West Gladstone. It was set on fire around 11.15am.
Firefighters from Gladstone doused the flames before any significant damage was done to the house.
