Tasty treats add up to more dollars for RSPCA

IT is likely naps, fighting, playing and some more napping will be on the agenda for this youngster today.

Little Serena is up for adoption from the Gladstone Friends of RSPCA. The kelpie cross has been with foster carer Lisa Warman since last week.

She and one other pup came into care from Rockhampton.

"They're crazy, very vocal, love to fight, then they will cuddle each other and they love their power naps," she said.

Their ideal homes would be somewhere they can exercise with someone who will give them plenty of affection."

The pooches were just two of the many who are to benefit from the Friends of RSPCA cupcake fundraising day held on Sunday at the Gladstone Kmart Markets.

Volunteer Janette Edwards said the Gladstone community had been very supportive. By 11am, the stall had nearly sold out and raised more than $6000.

"We're doing very well, it's fantastic," she said.

Adoption days are held at the centre at 17 Albert Rd, Callemondah.

Dog adoption days are on the fourth Sunday of each month from 9am-noon and cats the third Sunday from 10am-1pm.
