Assistance puppy passes first test with Chase

CHASE Standley's new assistance pup Shadow will graduate from puppy school this week.

Chase, who has autism and has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, quickly formed a bond with his new mate when Shadow arrive in Gladstone in mid-February.

The Gladstone community helped raise $7000 to purchase the kobelco labrador service dog.

Shadow's trainer Debbie Kampman has been working on various commands.

Last week Chase had his first tonic clonic convulsive seizure.

Mum Tamara Standley said Shadow remained calm when the ambulance arrived.
