Punching friend four times in face lands man in court

A YOUNG man who punched another man in the face four times in a Gladstone nightclub appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Cameron Anthony Hill pleaded guilty to one charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

The court heard police were called to Bojangles Nightclub on August 12 last year after a disruption occurred inside.

Police found the victim with bruising to his left cheek and a bloodied lip.

The victim said he had been ambushed by the defendant while coming out of the bathroom, and was punched in the face three times.

The victim said he was punched a fourth time shortly afterwards.

Hill told the court he had been extremely angry with the victim after a friendship breakdown several weeks earlier.

He said his behaviour was out of character.

He was fined $1500, ordered to pay $2300 and banned from attending the night club for 12 months.
