Lowmead Hotel to say thanks to volunteers following floods

ALMOST two months after a metre and a half of water swept through the Lowmead Hotel, the pub is back on its feet and throwing a party to thank those who volunteered in the disaster.

Owner Michael Henson said he wanted to bring the community together and thank the people who helped with the clean up.

On Friday night former Bronco Shane Webcke will be part of the celebrations, as well as bands from Agnes Water and Gladstone.

Mr Henson said it cost about $40,000 to restore the pub which was gutted in the deluge.

There will be buses available from Agnes Water, Rosedale and Wartburg/Baffle Creek to take volunteers to the Lowmead Hotel.
