Next week The Observer will publish a bumper edition of your favourite Gladstone region daily newspaper.

Wednesday's edition will feature three special sections: a 16-page souvenir publication celebrating the region's Prep pupils, an eight-page environment feature and a four-page feature dedicated to food - Easy Eating.

Prep students from across the Gladstone region will star in My First Year.

Our talented chief photographer Brenda Strong has spent weeks photographing children from almost 30 schools around the region.

"Our Preps feature is one of the highlights in our year," editor Allen Winter said.

"It's always well received by the kids, and it celebrates a very special time in their lives.

"The feature is treasured by family members and we often hear of parents buying enough to send to grandparents and others."

See your local newsagent or paper seller, or contact The Observer on 4970 3030 to reserve your copies of this fantastic keepsake.

Plus, the bumper edition will feature all the latest news and views from across the region and your favourites including horoscopes, sport and Time Out.
