Premier re-affirms no Adani funds

QUEENSLAND Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk may have granted the Adani coal mine a 60-year guarantee for the use of unlimited water, but she has again ruled out direct financial support for the controversial venture.

Indian media reports Adani is having difficulty raising the final $2 billion for the $16.5billion project because of the company's debt level.

"My government has always said that it is a matter for Adani to get the finance. This is a private investment,” Ms Palaszczuk told AAP yesterday.

Green groups say 21 banks to date have ruled out providing loans for the project.
