THE sound of music hummed from walls of Gladstone Presbyterian Church yesterday.

More than 100 people filled the pews to watch the annual Easter Concert performed by the Gladstone Musical Society.

Marking 50 years as part of the Gladstone Harbour Festival, the society performed eight Christian Easter songs, before joining guests in the Island Sands Community Choir for a few versus.

Wendy Wootten said the event had become more popular among locals.

"The majority of people who attend have supported us for quite some time," Mrs Wootten said.

"The special draw card was the Easter music," she said.

Renditions of You raise me up, God is a spirit and Trumperty sound were just some of the performances on offer.
