Power still in the play-off hunt with gutsy win
GLADSTONE Power's play-off hopes remained alive after a gutsy seven-point win over the Mackay Meteors on Saturday night.
Currently sixth in the Queensland Basketball League, the Power had to win to remain in the hunt for a shot at post-season glory and they did not disappoint their home crowd.
Shaun Gleeson sank 25 points while Justin Baker starred with 31 points for the Power, shooting at just under 70% from the free-throw line for the night.
Mackay held the lead at the half-time break, before a 23-9 third term saw the Power take a 10-point lead into the final quarter.
Despite Mackay outpointing them in the last term, the Power held on for the win.
Gladstone hosts the Suncoast Clippers on Friday night in a must-win game.
