Port City Power men almost complete their list for 2019

BASKETBALL: He's touted as the hardest worker at the Gladstone Port City Power The Capricornian Surge.

Joshua Melaney has re-signed for the club and said he was pumped to be a part of a roster expected to push for the play-offs this season.

"I'm very excited to be a part of coach Brady Walmsley's squad and the broader Power community," he said.

"I hope to improve my game and contribute to an environment which propels our team to championship level.

"I appreciate the opportunity I am being afforded and can't wait to get started."

Melaney joins a new-look roster of Kyle Tipene, Taylor Young, Jared Blanchard, Harold Ridgeway, Stephen Kiir, Nathan Druitt, Dylan Owen, Nash Koko, Mitch Knight and Troy Robinson.

Walmsley said Melaney thoroughly deserved his spot.

"To put it simply, Josh is the hardest worker in our program. He is totally committed to maximising his talent and works to improve every single day," he said.

"In time, I think Josh can develop into a really good shooter at the QBL level and we hope to provide him with some opportunities this year to show that potential."

The Power is also expected to announce two, possibly three, QBL development players in the next week.
