Pool fee changes for children and Yaralla lifestyle members

AT Gladstone Regional Council's general meeting on February 19 the age of free entry for children to the Gladstone's Aquatic Centre was increased from two years to three.

Councillor Colin Chapman said the age was raised in line with age limits imposed at other regional centres and to encourage more families to take full opportunity of the Gladstone Aquatic Centre.

"Raising the age of free entry enables more families to utilise this community facility without imposing undue costs," Cr Chapman said

"This age was determined by undergoing a cost analysis against other council's aquatic facilities around the state."

The amendment to the fees and charges also provides Yaralla Lifestyle Membership Package holders to receive a discounted admission fee.

Yaralla lifestyle members will now receive a 50 cent discount off their admission fee, reducing it from $5 to $4.50, with costs to be met by Yaralla Sports Club Inc.
