Police report crash, stolen fuel, drink drivers caught

GLADSTONE police reported a number of incidents over the weekend in the Gladstone region.

Traffic crash

A 26-YEAR-OLD man crashed his Ford Falcon into a pole on Lillypilly Pl, Calliope about 9.20pm on Saturday. night.

Police said the male driver would face charges of driving without due care and attention and failing to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash.

No injuries were reported in the single-vehicle crash.

Stolen fuel

POLICE reported a unknown quantity of fuel was stolen from a white Holden Omega between 5pm Saturday and 6am Sunday.

The car was parked overnight in the CQUniversity car park.

Drink-drivers

THERE were four alleged drink drivers caught in the region on the weekend.

  • Police intercepted a 34-year-old man on Hampton Dr, Tannum Sands about 8pm on Saturday. The man was caught with an alleged BAC of 0.061% and will face court at a later date.
  • A 20-year-old man was caught on Auckland St with an alleged BAC of 0.174%. Police immediately suspended his licence and he is set to face court at a later date. He was also charged with disobeying a stop sign and a speed limit breach.
  • Police caught a 25-year-old woman on Goondoon St in a Holden Rodeo with an alleged BAC of 0.109%. She was intercepted about 4.15am Sunday.
  • A 19-year-old man was caught on Sun Valley Rd at 8.45am Sunday. He had an alleged BAC of 0.62%.
