Police release images of alleged serial thieves

POLICE are searching for two men and a car which has been linked to a number of thefts and evade police incidents across the Fraser Coast and as far north as Gladstone.

Police linked the silver commodore sedan with registration 926 VKS to a number of thefts, fuel drive offs and evade police incidents since August 7.

Police have released pictures of the car as well as CCTV pictures of the thefts.

Maryborough Police Sergeant Stephen Wheeler said the men, who were in the car, stole a flash drive from Hervey Bay Maryborough about 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The car was also linked to the theft of a UHF radio taken from Ray's Outdoors in Hervey Bay about 3pm on Tuesday and the theft of alcohol from Dan Murphy's on Boat Harbour Dr about 5.30pm on Tuesday.

"On one occasion there was only one person in the car, and others there have been two," Sgt Wheeler said.

Police are not clear if the same person has been driving the car on each occasion.

Sgt Wheeler said police consider the men dangerous and urged residents to call Triple 0 if they saw the car.
