Police probing death threats to netball coach

NETBALL: Police in Dunedin have confirmed they are investigating threats made against West Coast Fever coach Norma Plummer in the lead-up to Saturday's 66-65 loss to the Southern Steel in the trans-Tasman championship.

The threats were understood to be made by a New Zealand fan.

The specific nature of the threats was unknown but it is understood Plummer (pictured) was shaken up and the team had increased security during their stay in Dunedin. The Fever squad is now in Tauranga to prepare for Sunday's round five clash against the unbeaten Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic.

Meanwhile, the Adelaide Thunderbirds have confirmed premiership midcourter Leigh Waddington will miss the rest of the 2014 season after she ruptured the ACL in her right knee in Monday night's 71-68 loss to the Northern Mystics in Auckland, Adelaide's first loss of the season.
