Police probe bushland 'shooting' on Sunshine Coast

SUNSHINE Coast police are probing reports a man was shot in the knee with a handgun in the Noosa area late on Sunday afternoon.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the man had driven to Cooloothin to walk his dog when he heard what he thought was a shot.

"He realised he had a small wound to his left knee," the spokeswoman said.

"His wife picked up him and took him to hospital. He wasn't in too much pain.

"It's being investigated as a possible shooting."

Detectives said there was no reason to believe that the public was at risk with the suspected shooting described as a random event.
