Brisbane siege called off after pre-dawn surrender
A SIEGE on Brisbane's south has been cancelled early this morning that began when a man in a Cleveland home began allegedly making threats.
Police arrived on Passage St in the bayside suburb at 1.50pm on Monday, declaring an "emergent situation" at 3.40pm.
Almost 12 hours later -- at 3.20am today -- the man surrendered.
A 42-year-old man is now being questioned by police.

POLICE are negotiating with a man allegedly making threats at a home on Brisbane's bayside.
Police have declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) after being called to an incident at a unit block on Passage Street in Cleveland about 1:50pm (AEST).
The emergency declaration began at 3:04pm.
It applies to Passage Street, between Middle Street and Queen Street.
Police are currently negotiating with a male person and specialist police are on scene.
