UPDATE: 38 yo man charged over yesterday's drug raid

THE drug lab found in an Oxford St home in Calliope yesterday has resulted in a 38-year-old man being charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs.

The man will face the Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 6.

Police continue to investigate following the 7.20am raid where a clandestine laboratory and chemicals were discovered.

YESTERDAY:

A neighbour has said that they noticed a "funny smell" coming from the home, but they thought it was just from the sewerage treatment plant, which is not far away.

"There was always cars out the front," they said. 

A resident who drove past as the police conducted their investigations said they also noticed  cars coming and going from the home, which is believed to be a rental.

"I don't know how they could have a drug lab there because they have house inspections every month," he said.

Earlier:

A 38-year-old man is assisting police with their investigations after a drug lab was found in an Oxford St address in Calliope.

The methyl amphetamines lab was not in use at the time but police believed it had produced drugs in the past.

They also found methyl amphetamines and cash.
