UPDATE: Police dogs track down missing crash driver

Tuesday 4.45pm:

POLICE dogs have successfully located the woman allegedly involved in last night's Auckland St crash, by tracking her scent from the scene to her home.

The 32-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle while intoxicated, failing to stop when required by police, and failing to comply with the duties of a driver involved in a crash.

She will appear in court on April 11.

Tuesday 6.30am:

THE Gladstone Police are still searching for a woman believed to be involved in a car accident last night.

It's reported that she crashed into a light post on Auckland St and fled the scene.

Earlier 8pm:

GLADSTONE police are currently on the hunt for a woman suspected to be the driver of a vehicle left abandoned at the scene of a car crash.

Reports received at about 7.40pm indicated the woman drove into a light post on the corner of Auckland and Coon St, police said.

However, the woman has since decamped from the vehicle with police in search.
