Alpacas killed with iron bar by duo in high school raid

POLICE are hunting two men who seriously injured and killed two alpacas after entering a Caboolture high school  on Saturday morning.

Police say two males attacked the animals at Caboolture State High on Lee Street about 5am.

One of the alpacas was found dead at the scene while the other was seriously injured and had to be put down.

Both sustained severe head injuries and it is believed they were attacked with an iron bar.

The animals had been at the Caboolture school for a number of years and were known to be gentle creatures.

The offenders also freed horses from the same enclosure.

Officers are searching for the males who were captured by security cameras.

One of the males was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

The other was wearing black shorts, a white jumper and a red cap.

Anybody who may have information relating to this incident is urged to contact the Caboolture CPIU or CrimeStoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au.
