Police drug raids send a clear message to traffickers

THIS week's police operation, which has uncovered a large number of people who are allegedly associated with the drug underworld, should send a clear message to others who think they can get away with trafficking drugs.

The people arrested this week, if found guilty, face serious penalties - penalties which should make others thinking of making a quick buck think twice.

Any other fold involved in this 'gutters of the earth' activity would be best advised to take off or give up - otherwise they will end up in the same boat.

There's nothing surer than the fact that the police are not going to let up on this.

They have pretty good investigation skills and they will ferret out illicit dealers and deal with them.

Of course, the police could always do with a little help from the community.

If you see anything suspicious in the house next door, such as people coming and going, lights on at strange times, make sure that you let the police know.

The drug culture needs to be killed and we need to make sure it is.
