Police charge man after discovery of alleged drug lab

UPDATE: Police have charged a 26-year-old man following the discovery of a clandestine laboratory at Gladstone on Tuesday afternoon.

Police executed a search warrant at 4.55pm on a Philip St address where they discovered the alleged laboratory.

Glen Colin Skarpona-Haddon has been charged with producing dangerous drugs, possessing relevant substances or things and possessing utensils or pipes.

He appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The matter was adjourned until February 25 for the preparation of a brief of evidence.

No plea was entered but Skarpona-Haddon applied for bail, which was opposed by the prosecution.

His bail application was adjourned to today for police to make inquiries about bail address suitability.

Skarpona-Haddon remained in custody overnight.

He is expected to appear at the Gladstone Magistrates Court today.
