THE step mother of the driver who crashed into a light pole on the corner of the Dawson Hwy and Penda Ave said he should be given a big fine to learn his lesson.

"They should write them all up," she said.

"They are in their 20s and think they're invincible. If it hits their pocket hard it might teach them a lesson."

The driver lost control turning off the round about and crashed into the light pole.

The car ended up facing the wrong way on Penda Ave.

The driver was taken to Gladstone Hospital for precautionary reasons with shock and high blood pressure.
