Big range of activities planned for Seniors Week
MORE than 64 activities and events designed for residents aged over 55 have been scheduled across the Gladstone region next month to celebrate Seniors Week.
Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers said the council had worked with regional community groups to offer a varied Seniors Week program from Saturday, August 15 to Sunday, August 23.
"The week celebrates the valuable contributions our senior residents make within our community, and promotes networking and socialisation among our respected over 55-year-olds," Cr Sellers said.
"Events are planned at various regional locations and some are scheduled for weekends or outside of working hours," Cr Sellers said.
Bookings are essential. Activities and most events are free, unless specified in the Seniors Week program.
Some activities may also require participants to take along their own materials.
Seniors Week bookings can be made from August 3 by phoning 4976 6306 or 1300 733 343.
No bookings will be taken on Wednesday, August 5 due to the Gladstone Show Day public holiday.
