Trio accused of starving huskies will fight charges

THE trio accused of starving two huskies have pleaded not guilty in Gladstone Magistrate's Court, postponing the outcome for the fourth time.

Shane Heineger, Hollie Cornwell and Sean Heineger-Finley will now appear on May 29, 2015, to face charges of animal cruelty.

Police charged the two men, aged 17 and 40, and the woman, 33, in July with breach of duty of care, cruelty to an animal and failing to exercise a dog closely confined.

The Friends of the RSPCA were handed the dogs after they had been found allegedly starving on a Gladstone veranda.

The older dog, Lady, had allegedly had her ears illegally cropped and was severely underweight.

Friends of the RSPCA again protested outside the court, as they have done each time the trio has made an appearance.
