Player sets his sights high

CLINTON Cavs under-11 soccer player Carter Bruton's team was battling to stay in touch with Central Razorbacks on Saturday.

However he was at the end of a few passes and managed to win his own ball several times despite the Razorbacks dominating general play and peppering their attacking end.

"It was good and I got a few touches," Carter, 10, said during the half-time break.

"This is my third year of playing."

School soccer prompted the youngster to join a club and it's a starting point for his bigger ambition.

"I want to become a professional player at either A-League or English Premier League," he said.
