Students spend day planting for a brighter future

A GROUP of Boyne Island State School students swapped the classroom for the beach on Wednesday to plant new trees at Tannum Sands Beach.

The year six students planted trees in a section of foreshore on the Oaks Rd in support of National Schools Tree Day.

Gladstone Regional Council supplied small casuarina trees, staff assistance and equipment for the students.

Bill Robertson Toyota, the Gladstone Dolphin Sea Scouts and the Riverstone Rise Early Learning Centre also participated in National Tree Day activities within the Gladstone Region.
