UPDATE: Tractor tyres set alight by unknown offenders

UPDATE

YESTERDAY police and two fire emergency crews attended the scene of a tyre fire on Glenlyon Rd behind Star of the Sea School.

Police have confirmed the tyres were tractor tyres, set alight by unknown offender/s.

Police will continue to investigate the offence.

SATURDAY 4.30 pm

TWO CREWS attended the scene of a tyre fire located in a grass bed along Glenlyon Rd, near Star of the Sea primary school.


The fire was put out and crews are currently working to dampen the area.

It was reported around 4.15 pm this afternoon, when a plume of black smoke covered the area. 

Traffic was diverted, no residential or domestic properties were at risk of damage.

Police are currently at the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
