A coffee with... Gladstone Airport chief Phil Cash

THIS week we have a coffee with Gladstone Airport Corporation chief executive Phil Cash.

Name: Phil Cash

Occupation: Gladstone Airport Corporation CEO

Years in Gladstone: Two

What you love about where you live: It's become a modern, cultural society here. It's got terrain, different vistas and there's so much happening.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon you can find me … working from home or sometimes you can find me landscaping my property.

When I was young, my dream was to … be an architect, but I ended up doing engineering instead.

I can't remember the last time I … played a game of tennis. I've played a few up here when my son visited.

My most memorable pet was … a little abandoned street dog we found in Mauritius called Jesse.

When I go out in Gladstone you'll find me at … the marina or the botanic gardens. I go down to the yacht club a bit as well.

When I feel like splurging, I … travel, particularly Europe. Turkey was one of my favourite places but I like to go somewhere different each time.

Life is about ... espressos and croissants. I can't live without them.

Al Pacino … would play me in the movie about my life. I think he is very cool in The Godfather.

The best piece of wisdom I've heard … was from Mahatma Gandhi: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world".

What are you spruiking? Gladstone Airport. The whole purpose of being here is to provide the best airport for the region.

We want people to be proud of it.
