Peppa Pig delights crowd
TONIGHT is going to be one massive night at the Gladstone Harbour Festival.
It will be all about the children as thousands flock to the Gladstone Marina to witness a star studded line-up of children's entertainment as part of the Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) Family Fun Night.
The Marina Main Stage will play host to some of the most popular children's characters as they dance and sing up a storm from 6.30pm.
Taking to the stage first will be the lovable and cheeky Peppa Pig who will have the audience snorting with laughter at her antics followed by the dainty dancing Angelina Ballerina.
If it's some hard-core children's action you are chasing, then you are in for a treat as Ben, his cousin Gwen and alien hero Four Arms come to life in the Ben 10 – Ben and Gwen Live Experience.
The night will also feature a special visit from GPC mascot Curtis the Turtle and for the first time ever screening of the children's movie Despicable Me.
To top it all off, the Gladstone skies will come alight with a fantastic fireworks display set down for about 8pm.
Gladstone Festival and Events event co-ordinator Ashleigh Smith said Thursday night at the Harbour Festival was always a huge night and she was expecting this year to be bigger than ever.
But there will be one disappointment with the cancellation of The Observer Marina Markets tomorrow morning due to the weather.
6pm-10.30pm – Festival Mardi Gras and Bechtel's Street Entertainment.
6.30pm – Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) Family Fun Night and screening of movie Despicable Me.
6.30pm-9.30pm – Rio Tinto Alcan's (RTA) Live Entertainment in the RTA Food Court.
8pm (approx) – GPC fireworks display.
