Penis photos sent by LNP candidate sinks campaign

AN LNP candidate for Brisbane City Council has been forced to resign overnight after revelations he sent photos of his penis to a teenaged boy and student while he was a minister at a Brisbane Catholic school.

The Courier-Mail is reporting Ashley Higgins -- who was standing for the seat of Tennyson as a teammate of Mayor Graham Quirk -- outraged the students father when it occurred in mid-2011.

The student had graduated from the school the previous year. Mr Higgins was 21 at the time. He was not employed with the school at the time he sent the image.

The photo he sent followed the former student sending an image of his own genitals the night before.

An LNP spokesman told the Courier-Mail said Mr Higgins had now resigned from both the LNP and from the local government race.

Mr Higgins has since deleted his campaign Facebook page "Ashley Higgins for Tennyson".

His personal campaign page as part of the "Team Quirk" website has also been deleted.
