Ms Hanson's Queensland state secretary Saraya Berick said the party has received a lot of support from locals in Gladstone and Biloela and are looking for the right candidate to challenge Mr O'Dowd at the next federal election.

"We want someone who is professional and who will act in the best interest and do what's right for their electorate," she said.

"We don't want career politicians…we want candidates with life experience and who come from different backgrounds."

Ms Hanson will be in Rockhampton tomorrow endorsing her latest candidate for the Capricornia electorate.

The last time Ms Hanson was in Gladstone she bought an avocado plant from Beecher Nursery, which by all accounts, "is doing quite well".

It's understood Ms Hanson will come to Gladstone once the party has secured a candidate.
