Passenger suffers arm injuries

A SINGLE vehicle traffic accident occurred early yesterday morning near the Sun Valley Road traffic lights on Phillip Street.

Police, ambulance and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene about 5.30am. It appears the car was travelling along Phillip Street in the direction of Stockland when it lost control.

The car hit the centre traffic island before hitting the centre fence and then skidding into the middle of the island and ending up hanging over the island that dropped down to the lower side of the road.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said a 34-year-old male passenger suffered multiple injuries to his left arm but the driver was uninjured.

The car had to be dragged off the traffic island before being towed away.

In another incident at 10.35am on the corner of Park and Rosella streets a mountain bike and a car collided. The bike rider was taken to Gladstone Hospital with unknown injuries.
