Panthers hooker James Segeyaro set for return

PANTHERS hooker James Segeyaro (pictured) is set to return from an ugly lip injury against his former team the Cowboys at Pepper Stadium on Monday night.

The livewire No.9 suffered a concussion and badly cut mouth against the Roosters in round three. After trying to charge down a kick from halfback Mitchell Pearce, he copped a knee to his face.

In the week that followed, the Papua New Guinea international took to social media to post pictures of himself drinking out of a straw, because of the injury.

The Panthers suffered without Segeyaro's energy out of dummy-half, losing 26-14 to the Knights last Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have received a few boosts ahead of Friday night's grand-final rematch against the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.

Five-eighth Josh Reynolds has been selected to return from an arm injury suffered in round one.

Fullback Brett Morris and centre Tim Lafai have also been named after missing the 25-24 victory over the Tigers last Friday night.

Steve Matai returns in place of captain Jamie Lyon in the centres for the Sea Eagles' clash against Canberra in Albury on Saturday night.

Second-rower Tariq Sims will make his long-awaited club debut for Newcastle against the Dragons at Hunter Stadium, also on Saturday night, following a five-game suspension.

Roosters centre Blake Ferguson's four-month foot injury means Shaun Kenny-Dowall will move back to the centres, and 20-year-old flier Nene Macdonald will start on the wing against the Sharks at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
