Palmer a no-show as PUP's McDonald launches QLD campaign

CLIVE Palmer failed to show at today's PUP campaign launch because he has the flu and doesn't want to infect other candidates.

This didn't prevent the rest of his candidates from getting their message across.

Maroochydore PUP candidate James McDonald said today's policies will "save the state and set the course for a better future".

John Bjelke-Petersen made his entrance as "Eye Of The Tiger" played.

The key priorities they've outlined so far are to:

  • have the balance of power,
  • abolish Queensland's payroll tax, and
  • clamp down on coal seam gas operators.

Bjelke-Peterson believes that abolishing payroll tax "will make Queensland boom".

Updates will be posted as they happen.
