Wilkinson pair makes Lions debut in wake of car collision

LIONHEART is a word used to describe the Wilkinson family.

Suitably, therefore, the two eldest Wilkinson children will enjoy their 15 minutes of fame on Saturday, acting as the Brisbane Lions team mascots as they run onto the field.

Tobi, 8, and James, 6, will make their debut at Woolloongabba as the Brisbane Lions take on Essendon Bombers.

Tobi and James will meet the Brisbane Lions team at 10am when they will be presented with their own jerseys and have a trial run onto the field with the team.

The two young Wilkinsons have been granted the honour in the wake of an horrific head-on collision in Logan on April 4 that almost tore their family apart.

The youngest of the three children, Abi, 3, remains in a Brisbane hospital and is a quadriplegic.

She breathes through a tracheotomy tube.

Donations continue to climb, with the tally standing at $18,720.
