Oz lives the dream in Harley heaven
JAMES "Oz" Osborn sells dreams.
Three months ago he began working at Harbour City Harley-Davidson in Gladstone and today he couldn't be any happier.
Mr Osborn has always been into bikes. He had his first Harley experience when he was 16 years old and from then on he was hooked.
"I borrowed my dad's bike once, without permission of course, and I haven't looked back," he said.
Mr Osborn said riding his bike was one of the most exhilarating feelings and knowing he was helping others discover the same experience was even more satisfying.
"Riding on your own gives you a chance to explore that moment of solitude and just think everything over," he said.
"But riding in a group gives you a great sense of camaraderie and brotherhood.
"We sell dreams here and there is no better feeling than seeing a customer walk out with a smile that lasts weeks."
Since starting work at the shop, Mr Osborn has learnt how to service his own 2013 model FXDF Fat Bob and as part of the team gets to ride demo bikes when new stock arrives.
"It's fascinating because I never realised some aspects of Harley-Davidson engineering haven't changed for decades," he said.
"I really am living the dream and helping others live theirs."
