Shocking spa recall from Bunnings Warehouse

AN INFLATABLE spa from Mspa that shocks users when parts are exposed to water has forced hardware giant Bunnings Warehouse to recall all 730 sold nationally since September.

Two Victorians copped electric shocks from the $499 spas, which were found to have poor power insulation, meaning the control box, water and wet parts could become electrified.

A Bunnings spokeswoman could not say how many of the 700L spas were sold in Queensland.

"Bunnings is aware that there is a small potential threat of an electric shock associated with the use of the spa," the company said in a statement.

"While there have only been two reported minor incidents to date, Bunnings is recalling the product as a precautionary measure."

Queensland and New South Wales share 121 Bunnings stores, almost half the Australian total.

Owners of the Mspa B-110 "silver cloud" spa are to return them to their nearest store for a full refund.
