Over and out for Meteors

METEORS have played their final game of hockey in the A1 Men’s Extended League this season, suffering a 3-0 loss to Wanderers at the Gladstone Hockey Fields on Saturday.

Meteors fullback Bob Appo said Wanderers scored three points in the first half but his side was able to improve its defense in the second, resulting in neither team scoring.

Finals will begin next week in the A1 Men’s Extended League.

In the Men’s A1 local league, Meteors defeated Souths 5-2.

Left half Davy Smith was an outstanding player in the match with good defence and pin-point passing a feature of his game.

Andy Smith top-scored with two goals for Meteors.

The local league will have a few weeks rest before their play-offs while the extended league’s finals are held.
