SHIKIRA van Lawick loves exploring the outdoors in the Gladstone region, but hopes to travel further afield for adventure this year.

The 21-year-old moved to Gladstone at the age of 10 with her family.

She is the oldest of four siblings.

Currently living with a couple of good friends, Shikira works in sales at Office National and loves the challenge it brings.

On her weekends, Shikira spends time with family and friends and can usually be found camping, fishing or enjoying a social drink out with her mates.

"I've been fishing since I was a little girl," she said.

Shikira has travelled around most parts of Australia and is saving to travel overseas this year.

"I'd love to go to Europe," she said.

Despite her shy nature, Shikira often models clothing for the T-Leaf Clothing Facebook page.

Pick up a copy of The Observer on Saturday to find out more about T-Leaf Clothing and see stunning photos of Shikira modelling the store's clothes.
