Gladstone's top trainees recognised in state awards

GLADSTONE is again well represented in the 2015 Queensland Training Awards, boasting seven finalists from 23 in central Queensland.

The awards are the largest and longest running training awards in Queensland and recognise excellence and the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations involved in training.

This year, 163 regional finalists were named. The central Queensland regional awards will be held at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre on July 25.

The finalists for the Gladstone region are:

Kiara Lavia - Bob Marshman Trainee of the Year

Kaela Banney - Bob Marshman Trainee of the Year

Anwah Al Salihi - Vocational Student of the Year

Mary Bolling - Vocational Student of the Year

Tahni Cross- Vocational Student of the Year

Queensland Alumina Limited - Employer of the Year (large) 

Biggenden Engineering Works - Employer of the Year (small)
