Miracle baby girl fights against odds to survive
ON AUGUST 26, 2014, our little girl Harper Bartrim was born 14 weeks prematurely weighing a mere 700 grams.
It was seven long minutes before she was stable. Mum woke up hours later in ICU at Brisbane Mater Mothers Hospital.
Harper had two lung collapses, two blood transfusions, treated for 5 infections, countless needles and blood taken and multiple cannulas inserted in to her arms.
Just as things were looking up, Harper crashed and our world came tumbling down.
On Wednesday November 19 at 85 days old, Harper once again nearly lost her life.
She has pulmonary hypertension.
Harper is still a patient at the Brisbane Mater Mothers Hospital and will eventually be going home on oxygen and three different types of medication.
We are trying to raise money so that I can be a stay at home mum for up to 12 months due to Harper being born so early and so sick.
Our finances won't be able to cover us for this time and we need help as Harper won't be able to go to daycare and will be most susceptible to infections and will more than likely require time in hospital to help her recover.
We are in the process of fundraising money to help me become a stay at home mother as I will be unable to return to work with Harper eventually coming home on oxygen for up to 12 months.
