Orica chief to give update of company's Gladstone plans

JON Barden will give an update on Orica's activities in the Gladstone region at the Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Ltd's next business luncheon.

The keynote speaker is general manager at the Orica Yarwun chemicals manufacturing site, and a business leader with a proven track record of delivering improved performance in the oil refining and chemical manufacturing industries.

He will be accompanied by Claire Hanratty, managing director of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, who spent eight years with Rio Tinto in senior management roles in strategy and process, working with operational and functional teams to design and improve structures and processes.

Ms Hanratty will be providing an insight into the value of protecting the Great Barrier Reef and how Orica is working with the foundation to do so

The GAPDL's May Orica Business Luncheon will be held on Thursday, May 1 at 11.30am at the Oaks Grand Gladstone.
