OPINION: Making Benaraby into a major hwy destination

FOR 22 years I often gazed across the road from the Caltex Boyne River and dreamed about what I would do with that 10 acres, to make Benaraby into a major stop in both directions, creating employment, and opportunity for many small businesses to operate.

>> New servo and supermarket planned for Benaraby

Recently I had the opportunity to pitch my ideas to a very interested party that wanted to buy that land.

Many thousands of dollars has been spent ensuring every aspect of environmental concern was taken into consideration, as there's no way I wanted the operators of this state of the art complex to endure what we had to back in 2003.

This complex will not only house a service station and convenience store, but also two to four eateries, a supermarket, specialty shops and possibly a tavern, should someone show interest.

These are terrific opportunities for those who are keen to investigate the possibilities, making Benaraby more than just an 80km/h speed zone, but a major service centre on the Bruce Highway.
