Dalby man killed in Darling Downs traffic crash

UPDATE: The employer of a man killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Darling Downs is working with traffic crash investigators.

The Dalby man, aged in his 40s, was the only person in the vehicle which crashed into a tree about 7.50am on the Dalby-Kogan Rd, 20km west of Dalby.

He died at the scene.

A representative from the man's employer, Ostwald Bros, said the company was "working closely" with authorities investigating the crash.

"We are saddened by the employee's death and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased," a company statement read.

"Ostwald Bros has offered counselling support and assistance to the deceased's family as well as all their employees and will continue to make that support available as needed."

11AM: A man aged in his 40s has been killed after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree on the Darling Downs.

The crash occurred on the Dalby-Kogan Rd about 7.50am.

8.30AM: Emergency services are at the scene of a serious traffic crash 20km west of Dalby on the Western Downs.

The crash on the Dalby-Kogan Rd near the intersection of Kumbarilla Ln was reported about 7.50am.

One person, a man aged in his 40s, has been seriously injured after the car they were driving crashed into a tree.

The RACQ CareFlight Helicopter has been called to the incident.

Emergency services have closed Dalby-Kogan Rd.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
