One book to rule them all in Gladstone
GLADSTONE libraries will present the One Book One Gladstone initiative this year in partnership with the Brisbane Writers Festival.
The One Book One Gladstone project's aim is to celebrate and connect Gladstone readers with a shared experience.
Everyone is invited to read the same book, which can be borrowed from the library, downloaded onto a smart phone or tablet, or purchased.
The book chosen for reading is acclaimed Australian author, actor and TV presenter William McInnes' latest book, Holidays - a collection of humorous stories about holidaying.
It is published by Hachette and was released in November.
Residents across the region will be encouraged to read the book, and participate in book chats, fan fiction writing, blogging, holiday photography workshops and travel agent talks.
One Book One Gladstone will be launched by McInnes on March 3 at 6.30pm at the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre.
He also will speak at Agnes Water Library on Wednesday, March 4 at 10.30am, Boyne Island Library on Wednesday, March 4 at 4pm and at Gladstone City Library on Thursday, March 5 at 10.30am.
Bookings for these events can be made by phoning Agnes Water Library 4902 1501, Boyne Island Library 4971 9700 or Gladstone City Library 4976 6400.
